Draft — not indexable. Drafted, not reviewed. A data seller cannot publish these until counsel has read them.

Privacy policy

Draft for legal review. What is below is the honest shape of the thing — what a business that sells business-contact records has to be straight about. The binding wording is a lawyer’s job and this page does not become the policy until one has been through it.

Two different sets of people

Almost every confusing privacy policy in this trade comes from mixing these up, so they are kept apart here. There are buyers — the people who visit this site and ask for a quote — and there are the businesses and owners in the data, who never came here at all. Different information, different sources, different rules.

Buyers

What you type into the enquiry form, plus the ordinary server and analytics record of a visit. It exists so somebody can call you back and build what you asked for. It is not sold, not rented, and it never becomes a record in a product.

The data itself

Business and business-owner contact details: the name of the company, the person who runs it, phone and email, the address, the industry, roughly how long the doors have been open and an estimated size. It is assembled from funding enquiries, from commercial business databases licensed under contract, from public business filings, and from append providers where a field is missing.

Why a business line can still be personal information

A great many small businesses are one person. When that is the case, the mobile number on the record is also somebody’s personal number, and state privacy law can treat it that way. California’s carve-out for business-to-business contact information ran out on 1 January 2023, so “it is only B2B data” is not on its own an answer there any more. Counsel has to settle which state regimes apply to this business and whether it registers as a data broker before this page goes live.

What it is used for

Filling orders, running and securing the site, and answering the people who get in touch. Nothing here profiles a consumer, scores anybody, or decides whether a person gets anything.

Who it goes to

Records in a data product go to the buyer who ordered them; that is what the product is. Enquiries from this site go nowhere. Service providers who keep the site and the systems running see what they need to do that and nothing beyond it.

What you can ask for

Access to what is held about you, a copy of it, correction, deletion, and to be left out of any sale or sharing — subject to the state law that actually covers you. Nobody is treated worse for asking. The quickest route by a distance is the do not contact page, which takes a record out of every build from that point on.

How long it is kept, and how it is held

To be written down properly with counsel rather than gestured at here. The one thing worth saying in advance is that a retention period nobody enforces is not a retention period.

Reaching us about any of this

No address is printed here yet, because the mailbox that would have to answer it does not exist yet. Publishing one that nobody reads would be worse than publishing none, so this section stays open until the entity, the address and the mailbox are real.
